Wineseek Wine Tasting

On Wednesday, Nov 13th, I was invited to a wine tasting at the Menzies Foundation, Clarendon House, hosted by Michael Davey of www.wineseek.com.au.  The tasting was located at a historic Melbourne venue that was perfect for such an event.

We went over at the start of the event to try some wine from Rothschild, Mount Adam, Castelli Estate, Quartied, McHenry Hohnen, Frogmore Creek, Nanny Goat, Wildflower and Craggy Range.  The wines were from France, Italy, New Zealand and Australia.   Each of the vineyards had representatives present and they were quite helpful in taking us through the range.

In addition to wine, Michael had also prepared a range of food to accompany the wines.  We had fresh oysters in a mint dressing, a well presented cheese board, beef in red wine and rice, dates and fresh fruit.  The food was fantastic and the oysters were the star of the show.  Large, fresh and beautifully dressed.  He is always a great host at these events and very welcoming to all his guests.

Wineseek is a company that developed from Gipps Street Cellar and they now do everything online.  They deliver wine straight to your door and have a wide-ranging collection to choose from.  Michael Davey, the owner, is always willing to help with choices and his knowledge of Australian wine is in depth and extensive.  The next time you’re in the market for wine, delivered to your door, why not give www.wineseek.com.au a try.  You won’t regret it!
